Our Profile 50plus is an adult ministry for adults 50 and over. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, religion or denomination. There are no dues involved and no membership required. Our Staff The Director of 50plus Ministry is Executive Pastor of Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church, Gene Jones. Our Mission The objective of 50plus is to win souls to Christ, disciple participants in the Word of God, provide opportunities for Christian fellowship and companionship, assist people in finding God’s purpose in their life and finding fulfillment in it, and be a crusader for the positive characteristics of senior adults. Meetings The meetings are on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The first meeting of each month we go to a local nursing home facility to provide fellowship by way of music, scripture, prayer, testimony and a Biblical message with the residents. The second meeting of the month the 50plus participants meet to prepare and deliver meals to shut-ins. They then meet at a restaurant or at a member’s home for lunch. Our meetings provide a time of Christian fellowship and companionship. It is a place where one can use their God-given gifts to serve others. Our programs promote recreation, humor, knowledge, unity, social contacts, spiritual depth, as well as a place to meet new friends. Activities 50plus plans several day trips throughout the year. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know new-comers better, and a great time of fellowship. Also, they are a time to have a spiritual up-lifting by experiencing sweet fellowship, lots of laughs, and a wonderful time.
