And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

SVBC has adopted Acts 1:8 as our strategy for outreach. While we seek to send missionaries around the world to preach the Gospel, we do not want to neglect to reach our own community, our “Jerusalem.” Therefore, we encourage every member to be involved in reaching outside the doors of the church and taking the message of Jesus Christ into their circle of friends, neighbors, business associates, and relatives. Some of the church programs designed to assist our members in accomplishing this task include G.R.O.W., Invite!, the Jail Ministry, Sports Ministries, Matthew 25:40 Projects, and various off-campus Bible studies and social events.
